If the All-Ireland Camogie Final ends in a draw, Cork and Galway will have to meet again in a replay. The O’Duffy Cup will not be decided by extra-time or penalties immediately after the final whistle at Croke Park.
The 2026 fixtures calendar has left the weekend of Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August available for All-Ireland final replays, one week after the original decider.

Is there extra-time in the All-Ireland Camogie Final?
No. If Cork and Galway are level at the end of normal time and any stoppage time, the referee will bring the match to an end and a replay will be required.
The Camogie Association’s Official Guide states that a drawn competitive match must be replayed unless the competition organisers have decided in advance that extra-time will be played and have notified both teams.
No such winner-on-the-day arrangement has been announced for the 2026 senior final. The master fixtures calendar also includes a designated replay weekend, confirming that a second match remains part of the schedule.
When would a Cork v Galway replay be played?
The provisional window for a replay is 15 or 16 August 2026. The exact date, venue, throw-in time and television coverage would be announced after the drawn final. What happens if the replay also ends level?
The Camogie Association may designate the replay as a winner-on-the-day fixture, but both counties must be informed of the arrangements beforehand. If extra-time is required, it consists of:
- Two periods of ten minutes.
- A short interval of no more than five minutes.
- A change of ends before the second period.
- Up to five additional substitutions for each team during extra-time.
The precise procedure for a drawn replay would be confirmed when that fixture is announced.
Would the replay go to penalties?
Penalties are not the automatic next step under the standard Camogie Association rules. In particular, there would be no penalty shoot-out following a draw in the original final. Supporters should wait for the official replay notice before assuming that penalties or any other winner-on-the-day method will apply if the counties cannot be separated in the second match.
