Bohemians to win at 4/7 (1.57) is my preferred bet for the second leg against St Joseph’s in Gibraltar on Thursday in the Conference League first qualifying round. The League of Ireland side hold a two-goal advantage from the first leg in Dublin and are in the driving seat to reach the next round against a St Joseph's side that now have to go all out to turn the tie around. While the 2-0 first-leg scoreline perhaps flattered the hosts, they did create the better chances throughout and deserved their win. The situation now plays perfectly into the hands of Alan Reynolds' side, as they can wait for their opponents to push forward, with Bohemians picking their moments to exploit the spaces on the counter-attack The bookmakers also reflect the difference between the two teams, making Bohemians clear favourites to win the match as well as qualify for the next round. Current prices of around 4/7 (1.57) for an away victory look fair given the first-leg performance and the overall balance of the tie. If you're looking for a slightly bigger price, Bohemians to win to nil is also appealing. St Joseph's will inevitably take more risks than they did in Ireland, but that could leave them exposed against a side with more quality. With the 2-0 aggregate lead, Bohemians can afford to stay compact, frustrate the hosts and capitalise on the spaces that should open up as the game progresses.

The fact that they won by two goals in the first match plays into their hands for the second leg, and I see them exploiting the gaps left by St Joseph's on the break.

If you want to add some value to your bet, I suggest betting on Bohemians to win with a -1 Handicap. They are the superior side and while they don't necessarily need to win to qualify, the fact that St Joseph's will be pushing for goals could play into the Irish side's favour and, with their quality up front, the goals could start flowing.
